Managed Databases
Managed database services
We deploy, back up and monitor PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MSSQL and Redis. Version upgrades, configuration tuning and performance tracking come off your operations backlog.
- PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MSSQL, Redis
- 5 engines
- Low-latency storage
- NVMe
- Over the private network
- Replication
- Metric monitoring via Zabbix
- 24/7
Who operates the database?
Installing a database is easy; keeping it healthy for years is not. Verifying that backups actually restore, noticing queries that have slowed, planning version upgrades without downtime and sizing the connection pool correctly all demand continuous attention.
With a managed database service we take that on. Installation and configuration are matched to your workload, backups are scheduled with Veeam, metrics are tracked in Zabbix, and threshold breaches are acted on.
On the storage side every database runs on NVMe. Low write latency translates directly into response times for transaction-heavy systems. Replication and cluster traffic run over the 10 Gbps isolated private network, so synchronisation lag does not depend on internet egress.
We recommend separating the application server from the database server. On the same machine they compete for memory and disk; on separate servers each uses its own resources and can be scaled independently.
- Installation and configuration matched to the workload
- Backup plan and restore testing included
- Query and resource metrics continuously monitored
- Version upgrades applied in planned windows
- Replication set up over the 10 Gbps private network
Features
Supported engines
PostgreSQL
First choice for complex queries, geospatial data and strong transactional consistency. Read replicas can be built with streaming replication.
MySQL & MariaDB
Widespread in web applications and e-commerce stacks. Read load can be distributed with a master-replica setup.
Microsoft SQL Server
For enterprise .NET applications and ERP systems. Licensing is provided monthly under SPLA, with no upfront investment.
Redis
Caching, session storage and queueing. Can be deployed with replication for high availability.
Replication setup
Replication topologies for read replicas, load distribution or redundancy are set up and monitored.
Performance tracking
Connection counts, slow queries, cache hit ratio and disk queue are tracked so bottlenecks surface early.
What the service includes
- Engine installation and initial configuration for the workload
- Tuning memory, connection pool and cache parameters
- Establishing the backup plan and running restore tests
- Applying version upgrades in planned windows
- Tracking slow queries and resource bottlenecks
- Building and monitoring replication topologies
- Restricting access at network level
- Planning capacity growth ahead of time
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I access the database directly?
Yes. A managed service does not restrict your access; it takes over administration and maintenance. Access rules are defined at network level so the database is reachable only from sources you permit.
Which engine should I choose?
Your application's requirements decide. PostgreSQL suits systems needing complex queries and strong consistency, MySQL or MariaDB fit common web and e-commerce applications, and MSSQL fits .NET-based enterprise software. Redis is not used alone but alongside these as a caching layer.
Can you migrate my existing database?
Yes. We run a rehearsal migration first to measure duration and surface issues, then perform the real cutover in the planned window. Data integrity verification is done together with you afterwards.
When are version upgrades applied?
Security patches take priority; version upgrades are applied in maintenance windows planned with you. A snapshot is taken beforehand so an unexpected incompatibility can be rolled back quickly.
