Backup Engine
Veeam Backup infrastructure
Our backup layer runs on Veeam: consistent virtual machine level backups, application-aware processing and selective file-level restore, all from the same engine.

Why Veeam?
What matters when choosing a backup solution is not how fast it captures, but how reliably it restores. We chose Veeam mainly for its deep integration with VMware ESXi and the breadth of its restore options.
Because it operates at virtual machine level, the whole server — operating system, configuration and data — is captured as one consistent image. In a disaster scenario that means bringing the server back as it was, rather than rebuilding and reconfiguring from scratch.
Application-aware processing matters for systems that write continuously, such as databases. During capture the application is quiesced at a consistent point; otherwise a restored database may fail to open because of half-finished transactions.
On the restore side, granularity is valuable: being able to extract a single file or a single database without restoring the entire server is the capability used most often in day-to-day operations.
- Integrated operation with VMware ESXi
- Application-aware, consistent capture
- Restore a full server, a single file or a single database
- Job result monitoring with alerting
- Backup traffic carried on the private network
Features
Engine capabilities
Image-based backup
The entire server is captured as one image, so a restore needs no reinstall or reconfiguration.
Application awareness
Continuously writing systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL are captured at a consistent point.
Granular restore
Extract a single file or database without restoring the whole server — the capability used most in daily operations.
Scheduled jobs
Daily and weekly plans are placed in low-traffic windows and run automatically.
Result reporting
Every job result is recorded; on failure our operations team is alerted and intervenes.
Separate storage target
Backups sit on storage independent of the production pool, so a failure or infection cannot reach them.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy a Veeam licence separately?
No. The backup infrastructure is provided as part of the service; you do not purchase a separate licence. Backup frequency and retention are set as part of your deployment plan.
Is the database server stopped during backup?
No. Application-aware processing captures a consistent image while the database keeps running, which removes the risk of a restored database failing to open because of half-finished transactions.
Can I restore just one table from a backup?
Database-level restore is supported; when table-level granularity is needed, the database is restored to a side instance and the required data extracted from there. Raise the request through support and our team carries it out.
